The more you use your iPhone, the more you want to store data on your device. Right from the beginning, when you start saving contacts, your iOS devices seek a timely backup. This would ensure that you never loss data, and if you do, then you can restore data whenever you want. It is like a safety precaution for your iOS device. Fortunately, iOS users have been provided with the two ultimate recovery options. iTunes, and iCloud!  Both these features can help you take back up very quickly.

In this article, we have covered two significant methods to take backup of your OS device. Read on the article, and let us know which method suits you the most.

Back up your iOS 7 Using iTunes

Generally, whenever you connect your iOS device to the computer or Mac, iTunes would automatically sync the device. Thus, we can say that iTunes is already configured to take backup of your device. However, you will have the option to change default settings from iTunes. In this case, iTunes would not take part in the backup process. But, for most cases, and with the new users, the default settings ensure that the backup process remains the same within iTunes whenever you connect your iOS device to the computer.

When you compare both iTunes and iCloud with the perspective of back up, you would always prefer iTunes backup. Somehow, it has its own advantages. Firstly, you do not have to worry about hackers who can hack your iCloud account and leak your personal data. Secondly, with iTunes, you have the option to shift and transfer physical folders wherever you want. Last but not least, your data would always remain protected except when your computer is affected with major issues.

Back up your iOS 7 Using iCloud

Many tech experts and even Apple itself suggest users to use iCloud for easy backup. This method is easy and ever-reliable compared to iTunes. You can completely eliminate the process of manual back up and more importantly, it does not require plugging in. iCloud automatically performs the entire process so that you do not have to put extra effort for backing up your device.

Setup iCloud Backup

Step 6:  Tap on Backup Now. It will start the backup process.

Moreover, iCloud provides 5GB of free storage which is already configured with your iCloud account. The storage space will be used for backing up data including photos, Safari data, Mail, Calendar, Contacts, and lot more. When you use iCloud Backups, your iOS devices will automatically get backed up to your linked iCloud account.

However, iCloud backup brings a distinctive change in your device. From now on, whenever you connect your iOS device to the computer, iTunes would only sync the data, leaving no clue for backup. If you still want to perform the backup, then you will have only one option, and that is a manual backup.
