To select Airpod as the Output go Through the Following

  1. Make sure you have turned on device Bluetooth,
  2. Head  to System Preferences

3. Select sound category Sound and go to Output,

5. If the output list doesn’t show your Airpod, pair it first.

Forget Your AirPods

Another way to troubleshoot Airpod connection is to clear off relation between both devices and then start a connection with new. In a few scenarios, factors like system updates can affect the way devices connect to one another.

You can remove your connectivity info through forget Air-pods option, this way the connection will be renewed. So, your Mac is going to see this as a new device when you try to make the connection again.

Since there may be a bug that’s not allowing the connection, forgetting the devices may fix any glitches that are causing this to happen.

Steps Forget your AirPods as a Bluetooth Device

  1. Head to System Preferences

2. Tap Bluetooth.

3. From the Bluetooth menu, select your AirPods under Devices

Under your devices, double-click on your AirPods

4. tab on the ‘X’ button when you scroll over your AirPods

After you have done with Forget Airpod, reconnect your Airpods on your Mac and check it’s working. 

Charge the AirPods and the Case

Yeah, it sounds silly but many users have made the mistake of not checking the battery before connecting their earpods. So to charge Airpod case and plug it with the lightning cable and the wall plug.

To charge the AirPods, just put them in the case, and wait till the status light turns green, it indicates Airpod is fully charged.

Reset Your AirPods

Not able to resolve the issue yet, try this last troubleshooting step for Airpod connectivity to Mac. 

Resetting AirPods can solve minor software bugs causing connectivity issues or a quickly draining battery. This process will reset the device to factory mode removing the bugs that are causing connectivity issues in your Airpod. It allows a fresh start to Airpod.

Step 1: Press and hold the setup button on the back of your case

Go for the Repair AirPods or Contact Apple

Tried all the solution and still AirPods not Connecting to Mac?, it’s time to go for the repair AirPods. If you haven’t resolved your problem yet, it might be because of a hardware problem.

So, the only thing you can do now is going to the Apple Service Centre for the repair or to the store where you bought them for replacement.
